Therapeutic relationship take-away
One of my big take-aways from last class was the use of empathy in practice. I have always been an empathetic person, but it can sometimes be a weakness for me. Sometimes I feel others pain more than I should and that is something I need to work on. As a practitioner, I will form relationships with my clients and their family members to let them know I care for them and I am there to support and help them in any way I can. I will be conscience of their situation and what they may be going through and treat them how I would want to be treated in those situations. For me, forming relationships with my clients will be one of the most important things I can do in order to gain their trust and for them to cooperate with me and be willing do what I ask of them during sessions.
